Overheating can be caused by a blown head gasket, cracked head or leaking block. Rislone Block Seal Head Gasket Sealant eliminates this problem. In addition, overheating can be caused by a stuck thermostat, bad water pump or defective radiator cap. If at any time the engine overheats, turn vehicle off and allow engine to cool. Make sure these cooling system parts are in good working order before using Rislone Block Seal Head Gasket Sealant. When one of these parts fails, it can cause the head gasket to fail.

WARNING:
Head Gasket Sealant is NOT COMPATIBLE with antifreeze and must only be added to the cooling system after ALL ANTIFREEZE has been flushed and removed.

DISPOSAL:
Observe local laws & regulations. Where permitted, dispose of in sanitary sewer system. Never pour on the ground or in a storm sewer system.

NOTE:
Protect from freezing.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Engine must be cool enough to safely open the radiator cap. (This could take 30 minutes or longer). Drain and completely flush antifreeze from cooling system and overflow tank. Using a flush “T” with garden hose works best. If cooling system is dirty, use a good quality flush following manufacturer’s instructions. ALL antifreeze must be removed or clogging may occur.
2. Shake well, Mix Head Gasket Sealant in a bucket or container with approximately 3 litres of warm water. Pour this mixture directly into the radiator. If using in a small cooling system, including all 4 cylinder engines, mix ½ bottle of the Head Gasket Sealant with the warm water.
   TIP: If you do not have access to your radiator and vehicle has a pressurized reservoir, then product can be added to reservoir. If not then remove top hose where it connects to the top of radiator and install product in hose. Reattach and tighten clamp.
3. Fill cooling system with water and reinstall radiator cap.
4. Start engine, turn heater on hot and fan on high.
5. Run engine for 10 minutes or until thermostat opens.
6. Turn vehicle off and allow engine to cool. Allow enough time so it is safe to open cap.
7. Top off (fill up) cooling system with water and reinstall radiator cap.
8. Run engine at idle until normal operating temperature is reached. Continue running engine at idle for 15 minutes.
9. Turn vehicle off and allow 45 minutes to cool.
10. Top off cooling system with water as needed and reinstall radiator cap.
11. Run engine at idle until normal operating temperature is reached. Continue running engine, but at high idle (approximately 1200 RPM’s for vehicles with a tachometer) for 20 minutes.
12. Turn vehicle off and allow engine to cool for 1 hour.
    TIP: For vehicles with intermittent or very minor leaks, it is recommended to follow step 12 by idling vehicle for one hour.
13. Remove radiator cap and drain system.
14. Leave drain open and radiator cap off for 12 to 24 hours. If temperature is below freezing, vehicle must either be kept heated or immediately go to step 15.
15. Flush entire cooling system and refill with manufacturer’s recommended antifreeze / water mixture.

DOSAGE:
One bottle treats cooling systems from 7.5 to 19 litres. Use 1/2 bottle for cooling systems from 4 to 7.5 litres.
For larger systems, use 1 bottle for every 19 litres of cooling system capacity.

Add entire bottle of Smoke Eliminator with Stop Leak to engine crankcase at or between oil changes. Idle or drive engine for 5 minutes after installation. INSTRUCTIONS:

Adding to existing Transmission Fluid

WHAT IS A TRANSMISSION?

There are two basic types of automatic transmissions.

         Transaxle / Front-Wheel Drive — The transmission is usually combined with the axles to form            a transaxle.  In most front-wheel-drive vehicles, the engine is mounted sideways and  the                    transaxle is located under the hood with then engine.  It connects to the tires with axle shafts.

          Transmission Rear-Wheel Drive — The transmission is mounted to the back of the engine                 and it is located underneath the center hump of the floorboard.  A driveshaft connects the                     transmission to the axle.

Transmission Components

Transmissions are a combination of mechanical, hydraulic and electric parts.

          Mechanical

Many mechanical parts are required to operate a transmission.  Some of the more important                parts are the fluid pump, valve body, clutches, bands and torque converter.  These parts work              in unison with the hydraulic system.

          Hydraulic

 INSTRUCTIONS:

Add entire bottle of Fuel, Exhaust & Emissions Systems Cleaner into approximately 1/2 full tank car (1/4 full tank truck) of gasoline.  Drive vehicle 30 to 50 km (ideally half of these kilometers at highway speeds), and then fill up tank.  Continue to drive vehicle normally until below 1/4 tank before refueling.  Take emissions test at this time (if needed) and CEL light should be off.  Depending on the severity and length of time light has been on, it may take an extra 400 km with multiple cycles of the vehicle being started and turned off for the light to reset.  If light is still on mechanical attention is needed.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

When the check engine light (CEL) or malfunction indicator light (MIL) illuminates, it has detected an engine system malfunction.  Some auto parts stores offer free on board diagnostic (OBD) code checks, and inexpensive readers are available to purchase for do it yourself (DIY) checks.  One of the most common codes is P0420 (along with related codes) for the emissions system that usually traces back to catalytic converter efficiency.  If the converter is dirty or bad, likely something else caused this.  CAT COMPLETE Fuel, Exhaust & Emissions System Cleaner not only helps with what may be causing the light to come on, but also the system that initiated the problem.  Driving with CEL on can cause increased vehicle emissions, poor fuel mileage, reduced power, further engine damage beyond what the original problem is, and could eventually lead to vehicle breakdown.  Sometimes the damage is so severe that cleaning will not help.  For example, a converter that has operated with temperatures over 700°C will start to melt inside and become permanently damaged. Or an oxygen sensor that is not dirty, but internally damaged.  Your best chance of cleaning one of these systems is within the first few months of when the light comes on.  However this formula can also work on a vehicle that has had the light on for years.  Once the issue has been resolved, the light may continue to be on for a period of time.  For some vehicles, it takes a few start/stop cycles for it to clear, others you may need to disconnect the battery for 15 minutes and leave the door open, then reconnect.   See vehicle owners manual for resetting the CEL if applicable.

EMISSIONS SMOG TEST

Many states, cities or regions require regular emissions inspections before renewing vehicle plates or the first time registering.   During a visual inspection if there are missing or tampered emissions components, that can be an automatic failure. It also could be something simple like a missing gas cap or a cap with a bad seal.  Defective mechanical parts that have failed would be another reason.  Many times, it does not take a mechanical issue to cause a failed result on a vehicle emissions test.  If you are unsure your vehicle will pass, or maybe it barely passed the last test, we recommend a fresh oil change and emissions system cleaning with Rislone Fuel, Exhaust & Emissions System Cleaner before testing.  Other items to consider include spark plugs and fuel filter, if they are due for replacement.  This gives your vehicle the best chance of passing.

Note: 

This product includes a specially designed spout which allows it to be poured into all gas tanks, include those that use a capless (no fuel cap) system..  Use anytime in a nearly full tank, or add to tank and then fill with up to 80 L of gasoline.  For smaller tanks from 20 to 40 L, use 1/2 bottle pouring equal amounts from each side.  Larger tanks use one bottle for every 60 L of gasoline.

Directions: 

Bend & twist spout and tear away on the perforated tab.  Remove cap and foil seal.  Tightly screw spout onto bottle.   Gently tip bottle and complete insert spout into gas tank opening, allow entire contents to empty into tank.  For continued protection and cleaning, use one bottle every 8 000 km.  Results will either be immediate, or noticeable within 150 km of driving.

To keep the system clean and lubricated in-between treatments, use Rislone Hy-per Fuel Injector Cleaner Upper Cylinder Lubricant part number 24701 (177 mL) or 24732 (950 mL).

DPF CLEAN® Diesel DPF, Exhaust & Emissions System Cleaner has high-performing detergents and heavy duty cleaning solvents that effectively scrub and remove contaminants, soot, carbon build-up, and oily residue from the fuel injectors, combustion chambers, turbo, EGR, catalytic converters, diesel particulate filter and the exhaust system. These along with other active chemical agents, react with the gases created in the combustion process to remove the remaining inorganic deposits. This process restores their function and with regular use maintains efficiency.
As fuel is burned, contaminating byproducts are created that get circulated throughout various vehicle components. The system is designed to be able to handle this process during most normal engine operation. INSTRUCTIONS:
Light Duty Diesel- (up to 125 litre fuel tank) Add entire bottle of Diesel DPF, Exhaust & Emissions System Cleaner into approximately 1/4 full tank truck or large SUV, (1/2 full tank for car or small to mid-size SUV) of diesel fuel. Drive vehicle ideally in a lower gear than you normally would, if possible, for 30 to 50 kilometers. Continue to drive vehicle normally and fill tank with diesel fuel. For vehicles with extremely dirty filters, a force regeneration may now be initiated. If light is still on, second application may be required, or mechanical attention is needed.
Medium and Heavy Duty Diesel— 125 to 250 litre tank capacity use 1-1/2 bottles. 251 litres and larger use 2 bottles.

NOTE:
This bottle is designed to work in ALL diesel tanks including those with misfuelling devices (designed to prevent gasoline from accidently being installed in diesel fuels).

EMISSIONS SMOG TEST
Several states or regions require regular diesel emissions inspections before renewing vehicle plates or the first time registering. This can be based on the vehicle year or GVWR. During a visual inspection, if there are missing or tampered emissions components, including an OBD-II check that finds an aftermarket tune can be an automatic failure. Smoke opacity testing either snap-idle or using a dyno. Defective mechanical parts that have failed would be another reason. Many times, it does not take a mechanical issue to cause a failed result on a vehicle emissions test. If you are unsure your vehicle will pass, or maybe it barely passed the last test, we recommend a fresh oil change and emissions system cleaning with Rislone Diesel DPF, Exhaust & Emissions System Cleaner before testing. Other items to consider include air and fuel filter, if they are due for replacement. This gives your vehicle the best chance of passing.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT
When the check engine light (CEL) or malfunction indicator light (MIL) illuminates, it has detected an engine system malfunction. Many auto parts stores offer free diagnostic trouble code (DTC) checks using the on board diagnostic (OBD) system, and inexpensive readers are available to purchase for do it yourself (DIY) checks. One of the most common diesel codes is P242F (along with related codes) for the emissions system that usually traces back to diesel particulate filter (DPF) efficiency. If the filter is dirty or bad, likely something else caused this. DPF CLEAN® Diesel DPF, Exhaust & Emissions System Cleaner not only helps with what may be causing the light to come on, but also the system that initiated the problem. Driving with CEL on can cause increased vehicle emissions, poor fuel mileage, reduced power, further engine damage beyond what the original problem is, and could eventually lead to vehicle breakdown. Sometimes the damage is so severe that cleaning will not help. For example, a DPF that has reached the end of its life and is full of ash. Or a sensor that is not dirty, but internally damaged. Your best chance of cleaning one of these systems is within the first few months of when the light comes on. However this formula can also work on a vehicle that has had the light on for years. Once the issue has been resolved, the light may continue to be on for a period of time. For some vehicles, it takes a few start/stop cycles for it to clear, others you may need to disconnect the battery for 15 minutes and leave the door open, then reconnect. See vehicle owners manual for resetting the CEL if applicable.
