Overheating can be caused by a blown head gasket, cracked head or leaking block. Rislone Block Seal Head Gasket Sealant eliminates this problem. In addition, overheating can be caused by a stuck thermostat, bad water pump or defective radiator cap. If at any time the engine overheats, turn vehicle off and allow engine to cool. Make sure these cooling system parts are in good working order before using Rislone Block Seal Head Gasket Sealant. When one of these parts fails, it can cause the head gasket to fail.

WARNING:
Head Gasket Sealant is NOT COMPATIBLE with antifreeze and must only be added to the cooling system after ALL ANTIFREEZE has been flushed and removed.

DISPOSAL:

NOTE:

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Engine must be cool enough to safely open the radiator cap. (This could take 30 minutes or longer). Drain and completely flush antifreeze from cooling system and overflow tank. Using a flush “T” with garden hose works best. If cooling system is dirty, use a good quality flush following manufacturer’s instructions. ALL antifreeze must be removed or clogging may occur.
2. Shake well, Mix Head Gasket Sealant in a bucket or container with approximately 3 litres of warm water. Pour this mixture directly into the radiator. If using in a small cooling system, including all 4 cylinder engines, mix ½ bottle of the Head Gasket Sealant with the warm water.
   TIP: If you do not have access to your radiator and vehicle has a pressurized reservoir, then product can be added to reservoir. If not then remove top hose where it connects to the top of radiator and install product in hose. Reattach and tighten clamp.
3. Fill cooling system with water and reinstall radiator cap.
4. Start engine, turn heater on hot and fan on high.
5. Run engine for 10 minutes or until thermostat opens.
6. Turn vehicle off and allow engine to cool. Allow enough time so it is safe to open cap.
7. Top off (fill up) cooling system with water and reinstall radiator cap.
8. Run engine at idle until normal operating temperature is reached. Continue running engine at idle for 15 minutes.
9. Turn vehicle off and allow 45 minutes to cool.
10. Top off cooling system with water as needed and reinstall radiator cap.
11. Run engine at idle until normal operating temperature is reached. Continue running engine, but at high idle (approximately 1200 RPM’s for vehicles with a tachometer) for 20 minutes.
12. Turn vehicle off and allow engine to cool for 1 hour.
    TIP: For vehicles with intermittent or very minor leaks, it is recommended to follow step 12 by idling vehicle for one hour.
13. Remove radiator cap and drain system.
14. Leave drain open and radiator cap off for 12 to 24 hours. If temperature is below freezing, vehicle must either be kept heated or immediately go to step 15.
15. Flush entire cooling system and refill with manufacturer’s recommended antifreeze / water mixture.

DOSAGE:
One bottle treats cooling systems from 7.5 to 19 litres. Use 1/2 bottle for cooling systems from 4 to 7.5 litres.
For larger systems, use 1 bottle for every 19 litres of cooling system capacity.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Clean area around filler cap. Fill jack to proper level. Do not overfill. Cycle jack by lifting and releasing a few times to release any air caught in system. Leaks usually stop in a few days of normal use. If leak continues, repair may be required.

The common element between all of the engine components is the oil. Oil is the lifeblood of the engine and is pumped under pressure to all the moving parts. The two main parts needing oil for lubrication are the bearings and pistons. As the engine ages and gains more kilometres, the oil alone can’t do the job. Internally, parts don’t fit as tightly as they originally did, which causes noise and loss of power. Bearings wear down, seals leak, lifters tick, blow-by passes around tired rings, and power is lost. When installed, Engine Repair helps to stop and prevent these problems and will also extend the useful life of your engine. Engine oils are generally used to reduce friction between moving parts. In addition to lubricating, motor oil must cool, provide corrosion protection and be a method of removing contaminants. As lubricants degrade, their properties change, leading to increased friction and wear. Over time the natural wear that occurs inside the engine causes reduced oil pressure, loss of compression (power loss), lower fuel efficiency, oil consumption (leaks & smoking) and noise (knocking & ticking). INSTRUCTIONS:
Adding to existing Engine Oil
Remove engine dipstick and check oil level. If oil is low, remove oil cap and install entire contents of the two-chamber bottle into engine crankcase. Do not overfill. Top off with manufacturers recommended engine oil as needed. Reinstall dipstick and oil cap. Drive/ idle engine for 10-15 minutes.

Depending on the engine problem, results will either be immediate or noticeable within two days or 150 km of driving. In engines with seriously damaged components, a second treatment may be required. In this case, it is suggested that the oil and filter be changed, and a second application of Engine Repair be added.

Changing Oil
If using Engine Repair when changing oil, add entire contents of bottle after filter is changed. Then refill with manufacturer’s recommended oil to proper level. Drive vehicle and recheck oil level.

DOSAGE:
One bottle is designed to treat 4 to 6 litres of oil, which is the normal size for most vehicles. On smaller systems from 2 to 3.9 litres, only use half bottle, pouring equal amounts from each side. For larger systems use one bottle for every 5 litres of capacity.

ENGINE OIL BURNING

There could be two possible reasons as to why your vehicle is burning engine oil. It may have an oil leak or you it could be burning oil during the ignition cycle. One common problem is if the cylinder walls are allowing oil to leak up from the bottom of the engine, past the piston and into the combustion chamber. So when the fuel ignites the oil does as well, and then expels it out as exhaust.

ENGINE OIL LEAKS

Depending on the severity of the leak, the first thing you will notice is dark brown spots underneath the front of the vehicle. The oil level will also decrease and if left long enough the oil pressure will drop and/or oil light will come on. A few other things can cause an oil leak that are not the fault of the seal or gasket. If the oil level is too high (filled over the full mark) or the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) system is not functioning correctly, leaks can occur.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Adding to existing Transmission Fluid

1. Remove transmission dipstick and check fluid level. For most vehicles this is usually done while the engine is running and the transmission is in Park. The transmission dipstick is usually located near the engine oil dipstick but further back into the engine compartment. Some vehicles do not have a normal dipstick.  For those, the product has to be added to the transmission through a fill plug.  Consult owner’s manual for location.
2. If fluid is low, pour entire contents of the two chamber bottle into the dipstick tube. Do NOT overfill.

Tip.  If necessary, to prevent overfill, drain some fluid from transmission.

WHAT IS A TRANSMISSION?

There are two basic types of automatic transmissions

Transaxle / Front-Wheel Drive — The transmission is usually combined with the axles to form a  transaxle.  In most front-wheel-drive vehicles, the engine is mounted sideways and the transaxle is located under the hood with then engine.  It connects to the tires with axle shafts.

Transmission Rear-Wheel Drive — The transmission is mounted to the back of the engine and it is located underneath the center hump of the floorboard.  A driveshaft connects the  transmission to the axle.

Transmission Components

Mechanical

The common element between all of the power steering components is the fluid. The fluid touches everything inside the pump, gearbox and rack & pinion. Adding to existing Power Steering Fluid

Using to seal leaks—Remove power steering dipstick and check reservoir fluid level. On most vehicles, the reservoir is on or near the belt driven power steering pump. Consult owners’ manual for location if needed. If fluid is low, pour equal amounts from the two chambers into reservoir. At least half of bottle should be used. Do not overfill . WHAT IS A POWER STEERING SYSTEM?

There Are Two Basic Types of Power Steering Systems

Gearbox (Re-circulating-Ball)

Most Rear-Wheel & 4-Wheel Drive — The gearbox contains a grooved metal shaft called a worm gear. This gear is threaded into a metal block with ball bearings between the threads to reduce friction. The block turns a pitman arm which is connected by the rods to each front wheel.

Rack & Pinion — Most Front-Wheel & All-Wheel Drive. The steering shaft connects to a pinion gear inside the metal housing. This pinion gear has teeth on it that mesh with the teeth on the rack. This rack is connected to each front wheel with the rod ends.

Steering Components

Power steering systems are combination of mechanical, hydraulic and some electrical parts.

Mechanical

Many mechanical parts are required to operate a power steering system. Some of the more important parts are steering shaft, rack & pinion or gearbox and fluid pump.

Hydraulic

 INSTRUCTIONS:

Add entire bottle of Fuel, Exhaust & Emissions Systems Cleaner into approximately 1/2 full tank car (1/4 full tank truck) of gasoline.  Drive vehicle 30 to 50 km (ideally half of these kilometers at highway speeds), and then fill up tank.  Continue to drive vehicle normally until below 1/4 tank before refueling.  Take emissions test at this time (if needed) and CEL light should be off.  Depending on the severity and length of time light has been on, it may take an extra 400 km with multiple cycles of the vehicle being started and turned off for the light to reset.  If light is still on mechanical attention is needed.

NOTE:

This bottle is designed to work in ALL gas tanks including standard, obstructed and capless (no fuel cap) systems.  If vehicle has a fuel cap make sure to reinstall tightly, as this can cause the light to be on.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

When the check engine light (CEL) or malfunction indicator light (MIL) illuminates, it has detected an engine system malfunction.  Some auto parts stores offer free on board diagnostic (OBD) code checks, and inexpensive readers are available to purchase for do it yourself (DIY) checks.  One of the most common codes is P0420 (along with related codes) for the emissions system that usually traces back to catalytic converter efficiency.  If the converter is dirty or bad, likely something else caused this.  CAT COMPLETE Fuel, Exhaust & Emissions System Cleaner not only helps with what may be causing the light to come on, but also the system that initiated the problem.  Driving with CEL on can cause increased vehicle emissions, poor fuel mileage, reduced power, further engine damage beyond what the original problem is, and could eventually lead to vehicle breakdown.  Sometimes the damage is so severe that cleaning will not help.  For example, a converter that has operated with temperatures over 700°C will start to melt inside and become permanently damaged. Or an oxygen sensor that is not dirty, but internally damaged.  Your best chance of cleaning one of these systems is within the first few months of when the light comes on.  However this formula can also work on a vehicle that has had the light on for years.  Once the issue has been resolved, the light may continue to be on for a period of time.  For some vehicles, it takes a few start/stop cycles for it to clear, others you may need to disconnect the battery for 15 minutes and leave the door open, then reconnect.   See vehicle owners manual for resetting the CEL if applicable.

EMISSIONS SMOG TEST

Many states, cities or regions require regular emissions inspections before renewing vehicle plates or the first time registering.   During a visual inspection if there are missing or tampered emissions components, that can be an automatic failure. It also could be something simple like a missing gas cap or a cap with a bad seal.  Defective mechanical parts that have failed would be another reason.  Many times, it does not take a mechanical issue to cause a failed result on a vehicle emissions test.  If you are unsure your vehicle will pass, or maybe it barely passed the last test, we recommend a fresh oil change and emissions system cleaning with Rislone Fuel, Exhaust & Emissions System Cleaner before testing.  Other items to consider include spark plugs and fuel filter, if they are due for replacement.  This gives your vehicle the best chance of passing.

INSTRUCCIONES:
Diesel Ligero (hasta 125 litros de capacidad del tanque de combustible): Agregue la botella entera de Limpiador de DPF, Escape y Sistema de Emisiones Diesel en aproximadamente un 1/4 de tanque lleno en camionetas o SUV grandes, (1/2 tanque lleno para autos o SUV pequeños a medianos) de combustible diésel. Conduzca el vehículo idealmente en una marcha más baja de lo normal, si es posible, durante 30 a 50 kilómetros. Continúe conduciendo el vehículo normalmente y llene el tanque con combustible diésel. PRUEBA DE HUMOS DE EMISIONES

UCL – Upper Cylinder Lubricant Top Lube

The Rislone UCL additive is specially designed to lubricate the upper cylinder of an engine; however this action starts in the fuel tank.  This UCL formulation helps overcome the lack of lubrication in modern fuels including unleaded gasoline, ULSD diesel fuel, E85 Ethanol, and other oxygenated and bio fuels.  In the fuel tank, UCL helps prevent rust & corrosion and this process continues into the fuel lines.  UCL also lubricates and protects the fuel pump, giving it a longer life and quieter operation.  The next step for the UCL formula is to lubricate the injectors allowing them to work more efficiently.   Not only are cylinder deposits cleaned, including gum and varnish, but as the UCL treats the upper cylinder the lubricating film helps to prevent carbon from sticking so that it can be burned.  This film completely lubricates the upper piston, rings, guides, valves, and seals.

Directions / Dosage: 

P/N 24732 / 950 mL bottle – One bottle treats 380 liters of gasoline or diesel fuel. For smaller or larger systems add approximately 50 mL for every 20 liters of fuel.

For vehicles with known fuel lubrication problems, double the dosage.
