Top 5 Reasons Why Fuel Injectors Wear Out

There are several reasons you may not get the performance you want out of your engine. One you may not have considered is a damaged or worn out fuel injector – it’s a massively common issue, and we talk to customers all the time about it. Fuel injectors are one of the great advances in automotive technological history. They are far more efficient than the old carburetor system — so efficient, most drivers don’t even think about them at all, even though they are vital to your car’s regular operation.

When you have engine problems, you may not consider your fuel injectors could be involved. However, fuel injection system problems are more common than you may think, and they can dramatically impact your engine’s performance.…

How to Use Fuel Injectors on a Motorcycle

Our products aren’t just for cars – we have hundreds of thousands of customers using our stuff in boats, ATVs, side-by-sides, and motorcycles.

Motorcycles are a big one for people – they come out in the summer, and they have a culture all their own.

If you’ve had a motorcycle for a long time, the idea of how to use a fuel injector cleaner on it may be a new one (or maybe you use one routinely). After all, traditional motorcycles have worked with carburetors since long after most cars switched to a fuel injection system. However, more new motorcycles work with fuel injection systems, and that number is only growing. If you’re a motorcycle enthusiast, you will want to answer questions such as “How does…

4 Ways to Improve Gas Mileage

With gas prices always seeming to increase during the warm months, we’re all looking for ways to improve fuel efficiency. We’d love to get as far as we possibly can on that next tank. But short of going electric or buying a new vehicle purely based on the listed gas mileage, what can you do?

When thinking about how to improve gas mileage, it’s important to understand what that means. Your gas mileage is a reflection of how efficiently your engine converts fuel and air to the energy that your car uses to power itself. Taking steps to make your car’s engine more efficient should improve your gas mileage. With that in mind, here are four things we talk to customers…

Tech Tip: Cold Weather Warm-Up Idling Can Harm a Modern Engine

Winter is hanging on for much of the US. Be sure to protect your vehicle from excess wear and friction caused by long periods of idling.
Contrary to conventional wisdom, idling does surprisingly little to warm the engines of today’s gasoline-powered vehicles. Modern engines are engineered so they’ll actually warm up faster if they are driven, not left to idle for long periods of time. Until the engine warms up sufficiently, the onboard computer system is putting extra gas into the combustion chamber. And all that gas is an outstanding solvent that can wash lubricating oil off the walls, causing significant extra wear and friction on components like piston rings and cylinder liners. This engine warming negative effect can be fought off with engine treatment…
