No, Rislone Engine Treatment Concentrate is formulated to be left safely in the crankcase for the life of the oil change for maximum performance. It is not an engine flush and does not require draining.
Yes, Rislone works with all petroleum-based motor oils including conventional, high mileage and synthetic. Rislone is also safe for use with PTFE-based engine treatments and will not alter the PTFE coating.
Rislone Engine Treatment Concentrate gradually dissolves and removes harmful deposits of varnish, sludge and gum from the internal metal parts without plugging oil passages. These deposits form within engines and can alter tolerances, stick valves and rings, cause noisy valves and lifters, and plug oil screens and passages. Regular use of Rislone Engine Treatment, with oil and filter changes at the proper intervals, will keep such deposits to a minimum.
One bottle of 4102 Rislone Engine Treatment Concentrate 16.9 oz. is designed to treat 4 to 6 quarts of oil. For larger systems, stationary engines and diesel trucks, use 1 bottle for every 5 quarts of oil capacity. For severely dirty engines, use 2 bottles (double dosage) of Rislone Engine Treatment Concentrate and change the oil and filter after 100 miles of driving.
Yes, Rislone Engine Treatment has the lubricating and protective capabilities of current motor oils, plus additional penetrating properties which do a superior job of maintaining long-term cleanliness and deposit control. Use of Rislone Engine Treatment will not void your new car warranty.
No, Rislone does not condone or produce any engine additive products with chlorine. We are aware of other additive companies which use chlorine and it shows to reduce wear in laboratory testing, but can do damage to engine bearings and other components in real world testing.
Rislone Engine Treatment Concentrate starts working the minute you install and start driving the vehicle to help remove harmful gum, sludge, and deposits from your engine.
Rislone Engine Treatment is only designed to be added to the engine crankcase. If the product is installed in the gas tank, the tank should be removed and cleaned out by a professional mechanic.
Young people and older folks aren’t the same: they need different things for optimal health. It’s the same with your car. New engines and older, high-mileage engines have different lubrication and cleaning requirements.
We talk to hundreds of customers every week, and one of the most common conversations we have is about high-mileage engines. How can it be cleaned? What protection does it need? How can it get back to running like it used to? How can I keep it on the road?
It such a common question that we developed the best high-mileage formula on the market: Rislone High-Mileage Engine Treatment. We took our legendary Rislone Engine Treatment – the one that’s been winning awards for decades – and specifically modified it for high-mileage engines. The result is better lubrication, better cleaning and better protection for engines that have been around the block a time or two. You still get the patented Rislone additive and detergent package, just in a formula designed for higher-mileage applications. Whether you’re a regular daily commuter, a commercial driver, or run a fleet with high-mileage vehicles, you owe it to yourself to pick up a bottle of Rislone High-Mileage Engine Treatment.
